Women in Tourism Progress Update

WIT Membership

The team at Women in Tourism has been working on developing membership, benefits and related activities since our networking event and membership launch in March. We’ve had a great response from the WIT community and we’re making progress, with your support. Read on for the latest update.

Membership

We’re delighted to report that Women in Tourism now has over 30 subscribed members!  It’s rewarding to see members signing up to network, swap skills, meet at our planned events and help us grow through our working groups and future activities – thank you again for joining us.

Mentoring and Skills Swap

Confirmations from members wishing to be mentors have started to come in, and we’re just about to go out to all members with more details on this, and about we need from you if you wish to be part of our Skills Swap.

Women in Tourism Smartphone App

The Women in Tourism smartphone app is a valuable tool and a great way to access WIT information. Details on how to access the app are on the way to members. In the app you’ll find a members directory, access up and coming events, keep up to date with news and more.

Forthcoming Events

Women in Tourism have three more events planned for 2017. Our September date and venue are now confirmed however if any members would like to offer or showcase venues for our winter events in Aberdeen and Edinburgh please get in touch –we’re still working on these.

  • Glasgow Event: Monday 11 September 2017
  • Aberdeen Event: Early November TBC
  • Edinburgh Event: Christmas Drinks (late November/early December TBC)

WIT Working Groups

We continue to work on developing our working groups. Thank you again to members for the interest, enthusiasm and offers to volunteer on these. Please bear with us as we will come back to you soon to continue to progress further.

As always, if you have any comments, ideas or suggestions, you have an idea for a potential WIT event or you can offer a venue for a future event, please get in touch by emailing susan@womenintourism.co.uk
